Café Kahawa

¡Hola gente!

Hello people!

I wanted to share with you a very special place at the mountain. This place is located specifically in San Gerardo de Dota, Costa Rica, just 2 km down from Trogón Lodge. The name of this place is Café Kahawa.

I believe I have never tried a better Apple Pie than the one at Kahawa prepared by none other than Ms. Evelyn. I found in this amazing place, greathearted people with amazing service that I would have never thought of finding. They helped me take the shots with such enthusiasm that I felt overwhelmed. Café Kahawa has the great advantage that it’s located just in front of Savegre River with direct view to it, and the sound is always present.

This, as you may know, is my greatest plus; having the sound of the river always filling up the space. I love the sound of the river flowing. Obviously though, the food is spectacular. With the variety of plates that they have in the menu, you could leave astounded on the delicious plates they make with local products. The trout, without a doubt is their specialty, but I didn’t leave without trying many other plates and I can assure you that you won’t leave disappointed on any choice you make.

Now, if you feel like going the extra mile and make something special, you can do the picnic by the river! I would definitely do this if I went with -a- girlfriend. 🙂

If you’re down to San Gerardo and are staying at Trogon Lodge or it’s whereabouts, don’t think twice to visit Café Kahawa and try any of their plates. Once you’re there, say hello to Ms. Evelyn or any of the staff and tell them that Roberto, the photographer, told you to visit! You will be received with a smile no matter what.

Here are some of the images I took for the Café:
